General Information

Speakers
A technical assistant will be available to help speakers and a laptop with Windows7/Office2007 provided. Speakers are asked to prepare their presentation in one of the following formats - ppt, pptx. The use of your own laptop is possible. Please check your presentation prior to the symposium sessions and Mac users are expected to bring a VGA adaptor.

Poster presentation
Posters will be displayed in two sessions, for one day each. Mounting material will be provided on site. Poster presenters should be available for poster attendees during the day of their poster presentation, 12:30-15:30 hours.

Size of the poster board is 90x150 cm (portrait).

Accreditation
The Workshop offers a certificate for PhD students for obtaining credit points. Please inquire at the workshop organizers.

Meals
During coffe and lunch brakes coffee and soft drinks will be offered. Price included in the registration fee. A'la carte restaurants are available near the IBRO Workshop 2014.

Public transport in Debrecen
The location of the IBRO-Workshop  (Life Science Building) can be approached from the railway station using public transportation (streetcar, line 1).
http://www.dkv.hu/en Get off at the stop marked „University” from where it is only a short walk accross the campus park area. Tickes can be purchesed at the two RELAY magazine shops, the ticket office opposite to the main entrance and directly from the driver.

Parking
On-site parking is available on the University campus at a cost 1000 HUF per day. The Life Science building can be approached via two gates one of which operates 24 hours (see Gate 1) and the other 06-22 h. (see Gate 2). Off-site parking is available at numerous nearby parking lots, many are within walking distance of the Life Science Building.

Travel
By car
Debrecen can be easily accessed from Budapest by driving on the M3 and then the M35.


Nagyobb térképre váltás

The total length of the motorway from Budapest to Debrecen is about 230 km highway (about a 2-hour drive). On the highway, an E-vignette is required that can be purchased at any petrol station along the highway. Further information.

By plane
Budapest Airport Terminal 2A/B (Liszt Ferenc International Airport) serves most international connections to and from Hungary. Flight information. The easiest way to reach Debrecen from the Airport is to travel by train.

By train
Trains stop at Ferihegy station located at Terminal 1, which can be reached from Terminal 2 by bus (No. 200E daytime, 900 nighttime). The bust stop is at the Arrival level of Terminal 2. Ticket (350 HUF) can be purchased from a vending machine at the bus top or from the driver.

Train ticket can be purchased at the train station. Please try get your ticket for the fast train – InterCity – with the sign “R” that runs hourly. Price of a single ticket to Debrecen costs approximately 5000 HUF.

A taxi from the train station to the downtown of Debrecen (your hotel) may cost 2000-2500 HUF depending on the traffic conditions.
